Yes, you would place this SQL code at the top of the installation SQL script that is executed in the “Install Database Tables” step of the installer.

However, if this command is not allowed by the user installing the script it will fail. Not because of the Setup Wizard but because of database user grants etc.Database Abstractions | database,
Hi,

I bought this script and trying to make it run but I’m getting error at the step where script executes SQL file to create tables. Here’s the error :-

There has been attempt to setup the database on utable but failed!

I already went through GettingStartedGuide.html and Implementation.pdf and followed almost all the required steps.

It’s good script and I want it should work so please reply as early as possible that’s why I bought it.

Since morning I’ve been working on it and it’s now almost 6 PM, I also tried to debug and enabled show_database_error_messages, debug_sessions => true,debug_posts => true,debug_gets => true,

and came to know script is unable to execute the queries (all the queries). I myself exported the .sql file from phpmyadmin so I was pretty much sure it was error free but then I cross-checked it. I deleted all the queries except one table query and even then I got error. I executed the same query in phpmyadmin and it executed without error. Then I started debugging class.databases.php and printed the query from script and executed that query in phpmyadmin and it executed without error. Then I stopped because now it seems error is in the script so please fix or let me know what should I do.

I bought this script to make my life easier by saving development time, if I had to spend the whole day on making it run, and debugging then it was better I’d have written the code myself and saved the money.install,

I will gladly help you with this issue, but to be able to do so could you please send me a copy of your php configuration file and the sql mask file. Then I can reconstruct your setup with your data and see the failure on my end.

Hopefully it is just an configuration issue. It might the Setup Wizard config, it might be your masked SQL queries, it might be the MySQL server settings or user grants … or it might be a bug.

I never wanted to reply because you replied very late but then I thought the fact is it’s only the one side of the coin which I was looking at, it’s true I had to debug, spent a lot of time, fix the bug by sparing time from my existing work which was not possible for me but the other side of the coin is you weren’t able to reply….might be you had some important work or an urgent piece of work or may be something which I can’t imagine and so I must understand your situation being a good human being and I have forgiven you.

I’m replying just to help you so that you fix the issue in the script so that others get the benefit out of it and I still support you and your script because you made such wonderful setup script.

FYI: Your last comment which you made 4 days ago, made me sure that your care about customers and it was just mishappening so I’m happy.

I asked you about this statement :-ALTER DATABASE database_name CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci;

I don’t want to add this statement in .sql (because it can be removed) rather I want to execute it the moment DB is created or selected so I made the changes in the code and did that.

Secondly, I’m telling you the way from which you can generate the same error at your end (which I had to face) and the code which I applied to fix it (may be you can come up with better one).

In my .sql file there were couple of statements in this way :-

DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `table_name`;CREATE TABLE `table_name` ( `one` smallint(4) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `second` varchar(20) NOT NULL DEFAULT ’’, `three` text NOT NULL, `four` enum(‘1’,’2’,’3’) NOT NULL DEFAULT ‘1’, PRIMARY KEY (`id`)) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8;

——Dumping data for table `table_name`

INSERT INTO `table_name` (`one`, `second`, `three`, `four`) VALUES ;INSERT INTO `table_name` (`one`, `second`, `three`, `four`) VALUES ;INSERT INTO `table_name` (`one`, `second`, `three`, `four`) VALUES ;INSERT INTO `table_name` (`one`, `second`, `three`, `four`) VALUES ;INSERT INTO `table_name` (`one`, `second`, `three`, `four`) VALUES ;

and .sql file was full with these type of statements :-

DROP, CREATE, INSERT (Multiple insert statements)

The problem was :- your code was not executing all the statements in .sql even not the first set of statements (mentioned above) and showing error during setup process, then I removed the DROP statement from .sql file and your script was creating table but considering all the rest of the INSERT statements as a one statement rather than taking as five statements so I dug deep into the code found many things but in a nutshell, There is a function named Get Sql Mask Parsed :-

In it there is a foreach loop, I replaced that code with this code :-
